Battlefield 1's open-beta is now live, which means you can download and play DICE's World War 1 shooter on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC without a code. The beta weighs in at around six gigabytes on all platforms.
You can download it on PS4 using this link if you're in Europe and here if you're in North America. PC players need only to start the Origin client and navigate to the Free Games section, where you'll find it in the beta section. Xbox One players can get it here.
Playing the Battlefield 1 open-beta does not require PlayStation Plus on PS4. However, Xbox One owners will need to have an Xbox Live Gold membership.
The beta features the Sinai Desert map, which will let you jump on a steed for horseback combat--a first for the Battlefield series. One of the big features of the map is an armored train which players fight for control of. Naturally, there's also planes, cars, and other vehicles.
The beta features the Conquest and Rush modes, with up to 64 players supported. For more information, check out this post on the Sinai Desert map.
EA has not confirmed when the Battlefield 1 beta will end, but it is expected to last at least four days long.
Battlefield 1's release date has been confirmed as October 21. Recently, EA revealed the game's Premium Pass will include early access to new multiplayer maps, four digital expansions, and a range of new weapons, dog tags, and skins
