Cities: Skylines has been out for a while now, but publisher Paradox Interactive continues to put out content for the game. The next piece of DLC, though, is unique in that it features assets created completely by a member of the game's community.
The Content Creator Pack: Art Deco, as it's officially called, adds several Art Deco buildings to the game. The buildings were designed by Matt Cruz, also known as "Shroomblaze" online, who is a popular modder in the Cities: Skylines community.
In a statement, Cruz said that he has spent over 3400 hours in the game and explained why he was inspired by Art Deco. "Because the Art Deco era is so highly regarded as one of the best building styles of history, I think it needs to be represented as such," he stated. "I made the suggestion to Paradox Interactive and they allowed me to come up with the buildings of my choice. I'm eager to see what the rest of the community thinks of them."
The Art Deco pack launches next week and costs $4.99. A portion of the proceeds from sales will go to Cruz. You can see some images of the buildings he created below (click for full size).

Cities: Skylines was well-received when it originally launched last year. In GameSpot's 8/10 review, critic and real-world mayor Brett Todd said, "Cities: Skylines is the best city-builder on the market right now. The game's presentation is stodgy, but it is all but guaranteed to provide you many hours of carefully crafting cities, laying out zoning, and establishing districts for specifics residential and industrial uses... all free from real-world mayoral headaches like 6 a.m. phone calls griping about snowplowing."
