GTA 5 Graphics Upgrade Mod Looks Incredible

Graphics upgrade mods aren't a new thing. Star Wars Battlefront saw a particularly impressive one last year, and now Grand Theft Auto V has a jaw-dropping one of its own.
GTA 5 Redux by modder Josh Romito improves what seems like every aspect of the game's visuals. The video below reveals the mod's first gameplay in two different situations. One has the player on the highway as sunset nears, while the other is set downtown as rain pours down. Both feature the player in the middle of a fight with the police. The new gameplay starts halfway through the video--you can check it out below.

A lot of the improvements focus on small details including altered blood effects, leaves falling from trees more consistently, and "individually crafted direct light for each and every body of water." These small details make a big difference, as you can see in the video above, but the modders have also added more prominent features like 4K textures, new weather effects, and enhanced lighting.
You can check out all the details at the mod's official website. However, if you were hoping to try it for yourself, GTA 5 Redux is not yet available to download. Romito said that he would reveal the release date in the next video featuring the mod. GameSpot will keep you updated.
This isn't the first graphic-enhancing mod we've seen for Grand Theft Auto V. Last year, modder Martin Bergman described his Toddyhancer mod as a "work in progress" that utilizes a bunch of tools to implement new visual effects. It includes ReShade, a generic post-processing injector that's also used in GTA 5 Redux.
GTA Online's next update is called Cunning Stunts and looks completely crazy. It includes new Stunt Races that have players driving through loops and tubes and off huge ramps at high speeds. You can jump in and play it when it launches on July 12.
