Fable creator Peter Molyneux has said he wants to make Fable IV, and has also discussed upsetting the series' publisher, Microsoft.

"It’s crazy that Fable IV isn’t being made," he told OXM. "I would love to do Fable IV, and the studio tried to do it. You’d have to get the original team back together though."

Molyneux also mentioned how he and his team sometimes upset Microsoft with a their sense of humour, something he described as being part of a typically British studio.

Molynuex left Lionhead in 2012 to found 22 Cans. The studio's latest project is The Trail, a mobile game released in September 2016. The future of the Fable franchise remains unclear, after Lionhead shut down earlier in 2016.
