Of all the heroes in the Marvel universe, it is Spider-Man who has the most iconic range of adversaries. Spider-Man: Homecoming is currently in production, and it was officially announced in July that the Vulture will be one of the movie's main villains. New on-set images posted on Instagram have now confirmed that Spidey will also be facing Shocker--check them out below, via ComicBookMovie:
[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]While the face of the actor portraying Shocker can't be seen in these images, it was previously rumoured that Fargo star Bokeem Woodbine would play the character. This follows the equally unconfirmed story that teen star Zendaya will be playing Peter Parker's love interest Mary-Jane Watson, while Michael Keaton is known to be on-board as a currently unnamed villain, possibly the Vulture.
Last week, it was reported that Jon Favreau would reprise his role as Tony Stark's bodyguard Happy Hogan in the film. Favreau played the character in all three Iron Man movies, the first two of which he directed.
Spider-Man: Homecoming will be the first standalone Spidey movie from Marvel Studios, following a co-production deal with Sony Pictures. It stars Tom Holland as Peter, plus Marisa Tomei, Robert Downey Jr, Donald Glover, Tony Revolori, and Tyne Daly. The film hits theaters on July 7, 2017.
