New Zelda: Breath of the Wild Video Shows Off Some of Its Weapons

Nintendo showed us what The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's power runes are capable of recently, and now the company has released a new video that gives us a peek at some of the upcoming game's unique weapons.
The first weapon shown looks like a giant broadsword, which Link seems to have some difficulty swinging. He uses a spin attack to dispose of multiple enemies, then takes his time on one heck of a swing to finish off the last one. It reminds me of very animation-focused combat from games like Monster Hunter and Dark Souls.

The video's second showcased weapon is a greataxe that Link utilizes to perform a couple jump attacks, where he leaps into the air then comes down hard on his enemies.
The next clip shows off what combat is like when you take a Bokoblin's arm and use it against them. It definitely makes Link look like a bully, slapping an enemy with its own appendage and most likely thinking, "Stop hitting yourself." He then throws it at an enemy, as if slapping wasn't humiliating enough for the poor Bokoblin.
The fourth and final weapon is a flaming wand of sorts that shoots great balls of fire. Link's spin attack causes the wand to shoot balls in several different directions, which can then be seen ricocheting off the environment and setting the grass ablaze.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild releases in 2017 for Wii U and NX. The open-world, action-adventure game recently took top honors at the Gamescom Awards. It also won "Best of Show" in the E3 2016 Game Critics Awards.
Breath of the Wild features a lot of new mechanics and items that haven't been seen in the Zelda series before. We've compiled all the new things you can do into an article here. Additionally, you can watch us discuss theories about the upcoming Zelda game here.
