Pokemon Go is all the rage right now, but a new entry in the mainline RPG series for 3DS, Sun/Moon, is coming out this this November. Today, The Pokemon Company announced six new Pokemon that will appear in the game and talked about some new features for it.
The new Pokemon, shown off in the trailer below, include a wide variety of creatures of different types. One of them, Mimikyu, has a "disguise" ability that allows it to change its appearance. This is the creature that was initially revealed last week, alongside the strong arm Pokemon Bewear.

Below is a complete rundown of the six new Pokemon, with descriptions written by The Pokemon Company:
    Name: Wimpod

    • Wimpod (Bug/Water type) is the Turn Tail Pokemon. This Pokemon is a cowardly scavenger that eats or stores anything that’s been dropped in the sea meaning it is highly valued across the Alola region as a cleaner of the sea. Wimpod has the new Ability Wimp Out which causes this Pokemon to run away or swap out for another Pokemon when its HP drops below half in battle.
    Name: Bounsweet

    • Bounsweet (Grass type) is the Fruit Pokemon which gives off a delicious aroma. This aroma has a calming effect on humans, so many people across Alola let them live inside their homes as an air freshener.
    Name: Comfey

    • The Posey Picker Pokemon Comfey (Fairy type) picks flowers which it carries around with it. Comfey uses its soothing aroma to help treat people and Pokemon at Pokemon Centers and hospitals.
    Name: Mudsdale

    • Mudslade (Ground type) is the Draft Horse Pokemon with incredible power and stamina. Its legs are coated in a protective mud and its kick can destroy a car in a single blow. Mudslade has the Ability Stamina, a new Ability which raises a Pokemon's Defense by one when hit by an attack.
    Name: Bewear

    • Bewear (Normal/Fighting type) is the Strong Arm Pokemon that must never be approached carelessly. With its strong and highly developed arms and legs, Bewear loves to give crushing bear hugs that will split anything in two.
    Name: Mimikyu

    • As the Disguised Pokemon, Mimikyu (Ghost/Fairy Type) lives its life constantly covered by its cloth. Mimikyu's Disguise Ability allows it to escape danger from an enemy's attack once, then its appearance changes.
As for Sun/Moon's new features, some of these involve the Pokemon Global Link website/service. The Pokemon Company announced that Global Link will end its service for Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire and X/Y and will be updated to work for Sun/Moon. Players can host and participate in new Friendly Competitions, which have two types: Online and Live.
Here are the official descriptions for these:

    • Online Competitions – These are competitions which are played over the internet. Players will be matched with an opponent and compete against each other for the best rating. These competitions can be open to Pokemon Trainers all over the world, or they can be set to only allow pre-approved Trainers to enter.

    • Live Competitions - These competitions allow players to host a competition and play together with friends and other Trainers who are in the same space. The Digital Player ID that contains competition regulations is generated as a QR Code, and by scanning the QR code into a 3DS system, participants can join and battle according to the set regulations.
Additionally, The Pokemon Company today announced a Hyper Training function that players can use to increase a Pokemon's power. In the past games, Pokemon became stronger when new levels were unlocked; this will apparently still be the case in Sun/Moon. However, the Hyper Training feature lets Level 100 Pokemon get even stronger, which wasn't possible in past games.
"Hyper training is done by Mr. Hyper, a new character who can be found somewhere in the Alola region," The Pokemon Company said. "By using Bottle Caps, a new item which is obtainable in Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon, players will be able to carry out Hyper Training on their Pokemon."
Pokemon Sun/Moon is due to launch on November 18 in the US and November 23 in the UK. At E3 2016, we learned about a new free-for-all battle mode and also got a peek at some awesome-looking 3DS models, one of which features Sun/Moon's Legendaries on it.
