Titanfall 2 Beta Patch Notes Explain Exactly What's Changing This Weekend

    An update has been released for the Titanfall 2 technical test ahead of this weekend's event. After discussing some of the changes made in response to fan feedback, Respawn has shared patch notes that provide further specifics on what's different for the second test.
    On the subject of "time to kill," Respawn said it's adding damage falloff for Charge Rifles at "cross-map distances" and "slightly increasing" cloak visibility for Pilots. Additionally, you'll need to build up your boost meter to 80 percent before being able to use the Amped Weapons boost; previously, it was only 50 percent.
    In terms of mobility--one of the areas that was the source of player complaints--things get a bit more vague: Respawn has increased max wall-running speed, base wall-running speed and air speed, and acceleration when jumping off walls. (No specific units were shared for these changes, which are not available in training mode, meaning leaderboards are unaffected.) Titans also now recharge their dashes two seconds more quickly.
    Another change announced already this week was the return of passive Titan meter progress. Among the changes in last week's test as compared with Titanfall 1 was the fact that you had to be making some kind of active contribution to earn a Titan. Now, you'll earn a "small amount" of meter every five seconds to help ensure everyone gets a Titan during a match. Respawn warns this amount "may be undertuned until we can take a pass at how much meter you earn from objectives."
    The last major change concerns Bounty Hunt mode. The score limit has been decreased from 6000 to 5000, with the intention being to avoid having so many games end due to reaching the time limit. The phase where you can bank your cash has also been lowered from one minute to 45 seconds.
    The invite friends feature remains broken in this weekend's test, but those on PS4 experiencing deadzone issues should find those have been resolved. You can see the full patch notes below.
    [​IMG]One of the goals of these technical tests was to stress Respawn's servers. The company has already gathered valuable data on this front but wants to push them even harder by ensuring as many people play at the same time as possible. To accomplish this, it will award a special callsign (pictured above) to players who play on Saturday from 9-10 AM PT or 4-5 PM. If you can't play then--or if you're a PC player, in which case you don't have access--this will also be handed out to those who play on launch day.
    This second test begins at 9 AM PT on Friday, August 26. It adds a new map and game mode, as teased in a newly released trailer.

    We think the abundance of Amped Weapons is a large contributor to lower time to kill. We're still adjusting individual weapon balance for ship.

    We wanted to note and apologize for "Invite Friends" still being broken in this build. We needed to get the patch to certification quickly to ensure gameplay changes could make it in for this weekend, so we couldn't get to this in time.
