It's still more than a week away from release, but Microsoft today published the launch trailer for Xbox One and PC adventure game ReCore.
The video is narrated by main character Joule's father, Dr. Thomas Adams. He advises Joule on what she can do to increase her chances of staying alive in the harsh world. As he's saying these things, the video shows off some ReCore gameplay that sees Joule performing all manner of maneuvers, including wall-running, while there are also some shooting sequences. Her father says, "Sometimes the safest path is the destructive one."

In addition to releasing this trailer, Microsoft revealed the actors who bring ReCore's main characters to life in performance and voice. Erika Soto (Halo Wars 2) plays Joule, while Dr. Adams is voiced by Stargate Atlantis and Star Trek: Enterprise actor Connor Trinneer. The mysterious Kai Brehn, seen for the first time in this new trailer, is voiced by Harry Shum Jr. (Glee, Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments).
Below are some behind-the-scenes images released by Microsoft of Soto and Shum. Jr.

It is the first Xbox Play Anywhere title, allowing you to buy the game digitally on one platform and get it for the other for free. Progress is shared across devices, so you can move between platforms if you want without having to start over.
At $40, the game is budget-priced. Microsoft, which is publishing the game, decided on the lower prince point for a number of reasons, one of which is that it's a new IP.
Microsoft also confirmed today that ReCore will be localized for voice and text in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish (LATAM), Brazilian Portuguese, and Russian. There will be localized UI and subtitles for Spanish (Iberian), Chinese (simplified and traditional), Japanese, and Korean.
ReCore was developed by Mega Man designer Keiji Inafune and Armature Studio. The Texas-based studio was founded by a number of people who worked on the Metroid Prime series.
